Týr is black with a snip, and a pure-bred Kolkuós horse. He is out of Hrönn 4660 frá Kolkuósi (by Stígandi) who was the highest ever judged mare from Kolkuós. She has thrown 4 first prize offspring and three that got second prize, which proves that Týr has strong bloodlines. His sire is Álftarleggur frá Árbakka, by Bylur, who now serves at the Cytraas Horse Farm in Ohio. There are quite a few offspring of Týr’s being raised in Iceland. Týr is very athletic and naturally fit. He has excellent work ethnic and great temperament. Týr has five very good gaits with big movements. Týr has reached first prize both in Iceland and the US. At the NEIHC breeding Evaluations in Georgia 2008 Týr got his highest score and the highest score of the show, or 8.35 overall. He was presented by Gudmar Petursson.
Tyr has also done very well in five gait and tolt T2 compettions. he has received 7.5 in five gait and 7 in tolt T2.
